In these days of cuts and savings new ideas are always welcome, and this has proved no exception for local events company FAB! who are putting the final touches to the eighth charity ball for Bath & North East Somerset Council on the 1st April.
As always with fundraising, Sponsorship is crucial to the event, and Bath local traders and businesses are being offered the chance to be the main sponsor for the unusually small cost of £150 + vat through a new initiative, the comedy raffle.
Businesses in
Bath and the surrounding area are being invited to enter the raffle, which will be drawn in the Pump Room on the evening of Monday 31st January. The winner will become the main Sponsor of the 2011 Ball, which is entitled, ‘Raising a Laugh for Charity’. All other companies becoming Support Sponsors:
The event at the Roman Baths and Pump Room will be a torch lit reception, followed by dinner, with entertainment throughout the evening, a raffle and auction. The theme is ‘Comedy’ and it coincides with the start of the Bath Comedy Festival beginning on the 1st April – All Fools Day!!
The event will raise funds for two local charities – the Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit at the Royal United Hospital – Space to Grow’ campaign and our local Quartet Community Foundation, who give so many grants out to local charities.
Julie Cooper from FAB! said: “We thought that raffling the sponsorship this year might encourage smaller companies to get involved and have some fun at the same time. Over the years the ball has raised well over £130k for local charities and we really want to keep the momentum going, but know how difficult sponsorship can be in this climate. We really hope that lots of businesses will want to help and become part of this annual event by entering the Comedy Raffle and coming along to enjoy the fun on the night”.
