FAB! Press Releases » RAISING A LAUGH FOR CHARITY – CHAIRMAN OF BATH & NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL’S COMEDY FUNDRAISER EVENT 2011
Cllr Sarah Bevan, Chairman of Bath & North East Somerset Council has revamped the traditional annual charity fundraiser, choosing comedy as the theme instead of a formal ball.
Cllr Bevan said:
“We all value the therapeutic effects of good comedy. April 1st being All Fools Day is the ideal date for a comedy fundraiser, and I am thrilled that our local event organiser FAB! has been able to link this with the opening night of the third
Bath Comedy Festival.
There will be various entertaining acts all through the evening, including star turns by our own Natural Theatre Company, stand up comedy by the
Comedy
Academy and a talented caricaturist to provide all the guests with a permanent reminder of their comic night out”.
The event will raise funds for two local charities – the Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit at the
Royal
United
Hospital, and Quartet Community Foundation.
The event at the Roman Baths and Pump Room will be a torch lit reception, followed by dinner, with entertainment throughout the evening, a raffle and auction, compered by MP Don Foster.
Sponsorship is crucial to the event, and Bath local traders and businesses are being offered the chance to be the main sponsor for the unusually small cost of £150 + vat through a new initiative, the comedy raffle.
For all enquiries about sponsorship, the charities, event and tickets, please contact FAB! on 08444 154 880 or by e-mail on info@fab-1.org.uk
